Boldwood Books is a new fiction publishing company launching in early 2019 with its first titles publishing globally later in the year.
Based on the principles of a true partnership with authors, consumers and team members it will seek out the best stories from around the world
from both new and established writers and bring them to readers everywhere.
Founded by a team with over 50 years success in fiction publishing it promises to be innovative but experienced; fearless but responsible and lots of fun!

Amanda Ridout, Founder and CEO
Most recently CEO of Head of Zeus which was named Independent Publisher of the Year in 2017 – after just five years in existence. Previously MD of Phaidon, HarperCollins and Headline she has 35 years of experience in independent and corporate publishing.
Caroline Ridding, Publisher
Most recently Publisher at Aria and before that at Avon. In both roles she launched many bestselling author careers and drove both imprints to considerable commercial success. Previously she was the Book Buyer at Tesco.
Nia Beynon, Publishing/Sales and Marketing Director
Most recently Head of Digital Publishing HQ at HarperCollins. Previously Digital Sales Director at Head of Zeus where she helped launch Aria and was part of the team that won Independent Publisher of the Year in 2017.
Sarah Ritherdon, Publishing Director
Most recently Publishing Director at Aria, and before that at HarperCollins. She has a track record of launching many bestselling author brands, including Kimberley Chambers, Barbara Erskine and Josephine Cox at HarperCollins, as well as Zoe Folbigg, Janet Hoggarth and Lindsey Hutchinson at Aria.
The Name:
A strong statement of intent to be fearless in our enterprise, linked to the material that underpins our industry – and also a personal literary reference for our founder, Amanda Ridout. The character of farmer Boldwood from Thomas Hardy's Far From The Madding Crowd is close to her heart. His house and farm in the novel – called Little Weatherbury – was based on her grandparents' farm Druce - which is still in Amanda's family today.
